- Co-anchor of NBC’s “Today” show since 2012.
- Former NBC White House correspondent and chief legal correspondent.
- Graduate of Georgetown Law and the University of Arizona’s School of Journalism.
- Guthrie presents incisive commentary with lighthearted wit and humor.
Television journalist Savannah Guthrie has been co-anchor of NBC’s “Today” show since 2012. A woman of many talents, Guthrie also holds a Georgetown law degree. She practiced briefly as a criminal defense lawyer before combining her legal prowess with past journalism experience to become a legal correspondent, first for Court TV and then for NBC.
Guthrie became NBC News’ White House correspondent in 2008. During her three years on this beat Guthrie covered the 2008 presidential election and traveled with Sarah Palin’s vice presidential campaign. She was part of a team that won an Emmy for its election-night coverage. Guthrie co-anchored “The Daily Rundown” on MSNBC in 2010 and 2011.
In 2011, Guthrie joined “Today” as chief legal correspondent and anchor of the program’s third hour. In July 2012, she joined Matt Lauer at the main anchor’s desk, replacing Ann Curry. In addition to her law degree, Guthrie holds a B.A. in journalism from the University of Arizona.
Savannah Guthrie brings the same easy humor and mischief she demonstrates on the “Today” show to each of her speaking engagements. A brilliant woman who doesn’t take life – or herself – too seriously, Guthrie readily shares stories from her own multifaceted life to illustrate inspiring truths.
Guthrie’s legal nous renders her an authoritative commentator on issues pertaining to contemporary law and justice. A seasoned White House commentator, her insight into today’s political arena is incisive and original. A veteran of television journalism from local broadcasts to the epicenter of American news, Guthrie is eminently qualified to discuss the business and practice of broadcast journalism on every level.
