- Comedian Wayne Brady is the winner of four Emmy awards, host or star or four variety/talk shows, and a Broadway performer.
- A natural comedian, Brady has been making people laugh for more than 25 years with his creative improv, humorous stories and impressions.
- Brady inspires others by having overcome several obstacles in his life, including stuttering, to have a successful career as a TV host and comedian.
Although he stuttered at a child, comedian Wayne Brady has gone on to win four Emmy awards, hosted or starred in four variety/talk shows, and performed on Broadway.
Brady was born in Georgia and moved to Orlando as a young child to live with his grandmother and aunt. Brady calls his grandmother his "mom" since she raised him. Brady began performing in community theater and at an improv theater when he was 16, but his television breakout was in the American version of “Whose Line Is It Anyway,” airing 1998 through 2007. He also hosted the daytime talk show “The Wayne Brady Show” in the early 2000s, was the original host of Fox's “Don't Forget the Lyrics!” and has hosted the new “Let's Make a Deal” since 2009. In 2003, Brady won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety, Musical or Comedy Series for his work on “Whose Line Is It Anyway.” He also won two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Talk Show Host for “The Wayne Brady Show” and in 2014, won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Song for “Let's Make a Deal” (shared with composer Cat Gray).
The multi-talented Brady joined the Broadway revival of Chicago in 2004, playing the role of lawyer Billy Flynn. He had guest appearances on several television shows, including “How I Met Your Mother,” “30 Rock,” “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Dave Chappelle Show,” where he made fun of his squeaky clean persona. He also has done voiceovers for several animated features, as well as starred in a handful of smaller films. In 2008 he released his debut R&B album, “A Long Time Coming,” and his cover of Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come,” an anthem of the 1960s Civil Rights Movement, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance. Since 2015, Brady has performed on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning musical “Kinky Boots” as Simon and drag queen Lola.
In 2007, Brady became an official supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities and is a member of their celebrity board, the Friends of RMHC.
